Our Philosophy
At Forêt Acadienne School of Bushcraft, we believe that the Acadian Forest is one of the best classrooms for outdoor learning programs. Our philosophy is rooted in learning by doing—developing practical wilderness skills through hands-on experience, curiosity, and respect for nature. We focus on building confidence rather than simply teaching survival, helping people understand the forest, make thoughtful decisions, and become more self-reliant. Whether you're learning to light your first fire, identify trees, or travel responsibly in the backcountry, our goal is to foster a lifelong connection with the Acadian Forest and equip you with the wilderness skills education to enjoy it safely and responsibly.
Our Programs
Our outdoor learning programs are specifically designed to help individuals build practical outdoor skills through hands-on experiences in the Acadian Forest. Offering everything from beginner-friendly introductions to more advanced Acadian Forest bushcraft training, our courses encompass essential topics such as firecraft, shelter building, carving, navigation, backcountry awareness, and wilderness skills education. In addition, we provide presentations, workshops, youth programs, and guided outdoor experiences, ensuring that individuals of all ages and experience levels have the opportunity to learn, explore, and gain confidence in the great outdoors.
Our Founder
Founded by Marc-André Caissie, Forêt Acadienne School of Bushcraft was created to help people develop practical outdoor skills while fostering a deeper appreciation for the Acadian Forest. With over a decade of bushcraft experience, years as a searcher, and a background as both a high school and university instructor, Marc-André combines real-world experience with a passion for teaching. His approach emphasizes hands-on learning in wilderness skills education, practical problem-solving, and building confidence in the outdoors. This makes his outdoor learning programs accessible to beginners while providing meaningful challenges for more experienced participants.
